Cameron & Kelly Studios is Cameron Clark and Jamelle Kelly. You are getting a partnership when you hire us, we enjoy each others’ company, we laugh, and we utilize the dynamic of having two creative minds collaborating. Together we are passionate about what we do and it allows us a lot of flexibility and versatility. Although we both enjoy big city life, living in this small town is just right. We can still travel all over the world to shoot weddings and yet return to a slow-paced vacation town and have our business meetings on the ski lift. Our commute on 89-A to Sedona events was just named one of the top 10 scenic drives in the US and we live 75 miles away from one of the Seven Wonders of the World – we can’t complain! Arizona never ceases to amaze us and we are lucky to make a living in this gorgeous state.
MEET CAMERON
If you asked me if I would end up in Flagstaff, Arizona, I would’ve said, “Where?” Before moving here in 2003, I was a staff photojournalist at a newspaper in Athens, Georgia. I relocated here with my husband because I always wanted to return to the west. Admittedly, I thought I’d spend half the year shooting weddings and half the year working on my documentary photo projects. Lots of mountain biking, traveling, and two kids later, my personal documentary work took a back seat to my growing wedding business and endless western adventures. My photojournalism roots make me a people photographer and I owe my career to Amber and Dave (my first wedding clients in 2002) for being so emotional when they first saw their wedding images. I never experienced that connection with my newspaper work and wedding emotions still keep me motivated. Two hundred weddings and 10 years later, I am still here chasing the perfect moment with perfect composition. Photography is the greatest and only job I’ve ever had. I live in downtown Flagstaff with my husband, Matt, and our kids: Owen age 4 and Harper age 3. I couldn’t ask for a more ideal place to raise children. Leading a balanced life is quite important to me so I play trucks and princesses with the kids on Tuesdays and Fridays but Monday, Wednesday and Thursday you can find me working at our downtown studio.
MEET JAMELLE
My photography career started as an undergraduate at NAU, right here in Flagstaff. After Jeff and I got married we moved to Denver and Phoenix working various jobs but all the while I continued to build my photography business. In 2007 we moved back to Flagstaff and I began working with Cameron. Since she couldn’t live without me, we became business partners a year later and created Cameron & Kelly Studio. I am the second photographer for all our weddings and head up the portrait and printing department. I am “this close” to finishing my Masters degree in Photography and plan to have the degree in hand by 2013. My husband grew up in Flagstaff and we both enjoy the outdoor activities of Northern Arizona. Our two children, Naomi and Blair are seventh generation Northern Arizona natives! I love my work as a photographer and the constant challenge of learning and growing with the technology. The goal is to work hard and play hard!
