Ever since the infiltration of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, I have stopped sharing my family on this blog. I realized this week that this blog is an important place to share our personal lives because our clients are expected to share their most personal moments here, so I why not join the club and share some of mine.  The kids were sick this week and I spent all week home with them (read: I’m ’bout to lose it) so when Daddy was home for the weekend, Owen and Harper were ALL about Daddy.  Normally we divide and concur at bedtime but last night Harper said, “Daddy, read me stories, too.” I feel really lucky to be able to capture these type of moments for our family.  It’s a treasure and it’s what I want to start doing more of for our clients.  Incidentily when I mention it as an option, people freak out and tell me they don’t want to have me come to story time, bath time, breakfast time, etc.  I’m here to tell you, people, forget dressing up fancy because these are the type of moments you’ll treasure forever.  This was last night at our house. ~Cameron

My baby girl love s Tío Norm.  In our house we named my sister and her husband Tia and Tío (spanish for Aunt and Uncle).  We got the idea because  my brother and his wife speak Portuguese (Karla is Brazilian) and that’s what their kids call us.  I’m long overdue for a “my kids” post, so hopefully, I can edit one for later today.

Harper 8 months, Owen 28 months. This pretty much sums up their personalities. ~cameron

It was my fourth wedding anniversary on June 17th and Style Me Pretty featured my very own wedding to my husband on our anniversary.  Here is a screenshot.  Visit the blog to see more photos of my own Flagstaff rustic event.  We did a 30′s-40′s Hollywood movie star theme and asked our guests to dress up!  It was a blast! ~Cameron

This little personal shoot “Owen’s second haircut,” reminds me how big my boy is getting.  I remember taking this photo so I would actually BE in a photo with my son.  It turned out cute.  This is one of my favorite mirror shots I’ve taken.  If you want me to document something like this of your family, give us a call.  I love to shoot events that you’ve got planned for your kids: birthdays, haircuts, first day of school…playgroup — bath time, etc.

I can hardly believe my boy is two years old.  I hate to say that it
goes fast, because to me each day seems slow but two years have passed
since I delivered our boy and that does seem incredible. This birthday was a bit of a whirlwind. We decided to have a little pot-luck party over at our house and it was really hard to be a hostess. Harper seemed just a tad fussier and more needy during the party than usual but Owen seemed to have a great time.  He kept saying all day “I want ma cake” or “I want to eat ma cake.”  Finally the time came when we sang the birthday song and he just kept lunging for the cake — mouth first.  Special thanks to Katrina of Sedona Bride who, stepped in like the great friend she is and shot some photos on my camera for me. It’s so great to have a friend whom you can just hand the camera to and say, “can you shoot this?” (and KNOW they can handle it). Sometimes my life as a photojournalist is hard because you want to photograph everything but then you never get to participate!  Yesterday I was “wearing” Harper in the Moby Wrap and it proved too hard to play photojournalist at the same time. Enjoy the photos of the kids. ~cameron~
