FAQ: What is "Night at The Studio"

Every client sees their images for the first time via our blog and then their internet slideshow--- UNLESS you opt into a new program this year called "Night At The Studio."  This option allows you to invite your family and friends to view your slideshow HUGE projected on the wall at our sister space, The Flagstaff Photography Center.

Our first "Night at The Studio" was last night for DeeAnn and Eric's wedding. I was having too much fun eating (they brought an amazing Mexican spread) and chatting to photograph too many details but I did get this shot of the slideshow in action. 

We are thrilled to be featured on the Little Black Book Blog, a sub blog of Style Me Pretty, a national Wedding Blog site that is visited by millions of brides each month! Congrats to Dee Ann and Eric for having such a great Mexican themed wedding. Here is a screen shot from that site.  I will have to get DeeAnn to chime in and comment for some more details.

It is with great humility I write this post.  Initially, I had no idea why but I was very drawn to photograph Dee and Eric's wedding at the last minute.  So drawn, in fact, I offered to do it pro-bono even though I really knew nothing about the couple, the wedding, etc.  Let me explain the story.  Dee is the daughter of Phyllis Hogan, who owns Winter Sun, a local trading store, which is in the same building as our new studio. Some time ago, a prominent commercial photographer, Sue Bennett ran her whole operation in this same building, including my little studio. Bennett shot in the gallery of the Flagstaff Photography Center, and had her office adjacent to mine.  Tragically, Bennett was killed in a car accident in 2003.  The Winter Sun gals knew her because their store backs up to Sue's studio -- plus she was just Sue, everyone downtown knew her.  If this is confusing, SORRY, but the point is, we are all connected and I believe we still are--Bennett's presence is certainly everywhere in this building. I think Bennett was *telling* me to shoot this event-- so I did.  I found out later that Dee had been on her own tragic journey over the last few years and that this wedding was truly a gift in so many ways: finding Eric, having her friend's offer their gorgeous home in Tucson as the wedding location, her good friend Gillian as the minister, and having me offer to shoot the event.  The list is longer, so I hope DeeAnn will comment on this post and fill us in.  This wedding was filled love, EVERYONE was on the edge of their seats with joy for this couple.  I loved the Mexican theme they pulled off too... so many great details that made it work. To DeeAnn and Eric-- you guys are pure magic I know you are having fun on your belated trip to Baja for a month.  We are all jealous!   Jamelle and I are planning a "SLIDESHOW release party" for Dee + Eric.  With all our packages we include the option to view your slideshow projected on a BIG SCREEN at our studio and of course invite all your friends if you like!  Blog post to follow of our first slideshow party.
