Jamelle and I were approached this spring about shooting a firefighter calendar as a donation for the Flagstaff Firefighters, who are raising money for a local boy Dawson Merrick, who got very sick this year and tragically passed away this fall.  Jamelle and I had never really spent too much time studying firefighter calendars but apparently they are all the rage!  Basically, we didn't know what we signed up for... which was a lot of shirtless men in their turn-out pants posing with various firemen gear.  It was certainly an experience to remember!  Everyone involved was so accommodating and we had a great time making these images.  Good luck to the Merrick's--we are very sorry for their loss BUT glad to help sell these calendars for them.  Stop by the studio on Friday night this week, as the firemen will be selling the calendars for $20!  Here are some of our favorites images including some of Jamelle and I at this shoot. We went up like sixty feet in the "bucket" to get a rappelling shot and Owen watched me and still every time he sees a ladder truck he says "mommy bucket firefighter." You may remember beautiful CeCe and her daughter Tess's portrait session this past winter.  CeCe was battling cancer at the time and recognized the importance that this portrait session may have for Tess and her family.  CeCe passed away this past week and we sincerely send our condolences and love to Tess.  I'm grateful for the opportunity I had to photograph CeCe and be apart of something so valuable to her family.
