This was a intimate family wedding in Forest Highlands. Sedona Cake Couture did their cake and I think the groom's mom pretty much took care of the rest! She was fabulous!

So if you (or your parents) happen to have a gorgeous second home in Forest Highlands... why not get married there? Great idea! Most people underestimate the simplicity of a small ceremony, AKA just family. This is a great way to split up the events so you do not have to feed 100+ guests. If you have the ceremony on a Thursday or even weeks before your reception, you can relax and just "throw a party." This is a bit less traditional, but as you might know my advice is about weddings is to DO WHAT YOU WANT! It's your day. If a big ceremony with everyone watching makes you nervous.... don't do it! Plus you usually get to have two outfits (and two pairs of shoes... am I appealing to you ladies yet)?
Jo and Austin made it simple and it was great. There were 3 babies in the family under three, two of them were 5 & 6 months respectively so it made sense to have a nice small family style event. I was only there for three hours, but we got some great shots anyway. Here are two quick ones
Talk about being behind on the blog... well I don't want to rush the editing, but hopefully I'll be back on a weekly track in the next two weeks. Kristine and Dustin, got married at Nativity Church in downtown Flagstaff on August 18, 2007 with their reception at Forest Highland Golf Club. These two families were so much fun all day. Kristine was beautiful and Dustin was handsome. I loved the color choice of the orange bridesmaid dresses with pink sashes and pink shoes. Showstoppers did the flowers, and take a look at that cool ring bearer "treasure box" as they called it. Most creative thing I've seen a ring bearer carry thus far. click here to view slideshow.
July usually brings rain showers in the afternoon, but mother nature knew better than to mess with 7-14-07! I enjoyed seeing these families mingle-- for one thing, I haven't had a full Jewish wedding complete with a Ketubah signing before, so that was pretty unique and not to mention how BEAUTIFUL the Ketubah turned out. I also love the Jewish tradition of allowing the parents stand up close with the bride and groom as their ceremony unfolds. The toasts that were given at this wedding had me wiping tears away -- everyone from the fathers' to the bride herself we so eloquent and well spoken. It was a joyous occasion and I wish Jaime and Ryan the best of luck. View Slideshow here.

Tis the season to be back-blogging. Cheryl and Chris were married June 2, 2007! This wedding was awesome #1) because it a local Flagstaff affair (you know I love a wedding in my backyard) #2) because Chris and Cheryl laid in a bed of roses for me and #3) Showstoppers outdid themselves. I mean haven't I mentioned that I love peonies and did you see that arch---breathtaking! view slideshow here.back-posting - Cheryl & Chris
